This table is made from two 9ft walnut slabs from the same tree.  The slabs are "book matched", meaning they are joined in a way that the wood grain on each slab mirrors the other. A great amount of time was taken to ensure that the join is as close to invisible as possible. You will also see that where there are cracks in the slabs they have been stabilized with Ebony bowtie inlays that were chiselled out and inlaid by hand. The cracks and knots were then further stabilized using black epoxy resin.

The finish coat is 4 layers of highly durable polyurethane that is sanded to 5000 grit between each coat so that the table is protected from spills and damage without the look of a heavy lacquer finish.

This monster table sits on over 60ft of 5" wide walnut and is a true statement piece for any dining room!
